Epsom salt detox baths need to be in your life. Who doesn’t love soaking in a hot bath to let the day’s troubles soak away? With this little gem of a recipe, your bath can do double duty by removing stress and toxins.

The Granola:

If you are feeling sluggish or generally  just “off,” you may need to soak in an Epsom salt detox bath.   Epsom salts are named for the mineral rich waters of Epsom, England.  These magic little salts help to draw toxins from the body when they are absorbed through the skin.   We collect toxins from our environment and the foods we eat. It is a good idea to take a monthly detox bath as maintenance for a healthy body.

The Hustle:

Epsom Salt Detox Bath

Epsom salt detox bath ingredients

1 cup Epsom salt
1 cup Baking soda
1 cup Apple cider vinegar
10 drops essential oil (lavender, peppermint or lemon)

Add the ingredients into the running bath water and swish around to be sure that everything is mixed well.  You will only want to stay in the bath for 20 – 30 minutes because you may feel tired and sluggish due to the toxins being pulled out of your skin.  I recommend taking this bath before bed, especially if you use Lavender essential oil.  Having a glass of cold water is definitely a good idea too.
